An angel wakes Joseph in the middle of the night. The family must leave at once, cross the desert, and live for years in a foreign land.

Joseph was Jacob's favorite son, and his brothers envied him. When Joseph told them the dreams God had given him, that envy grew into something far worse.

In Egypt, Joseph becomes a slave in Potiphar's house. Even far from home and treated unjustly, God was with him, giving him wisdom in every place he went.

Joseph interprets Pharaoh's dreams and becomes governor of Egypt. Years later, the brothers who sold him come seeking food, and Joseph must choose between resentment and forgiveness.

Moses, now a shepherd in the desert, finds a bush that burns with fire but is not consumed. There, God calls him to a mission that seems impossible: to free the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt.

On the most important night in Israel's history, God institutes the Passover and frees his people from slavery. After four hundred and thirty years, the journey to the Promised Land begins.

Moses and Aaron come before Pharaoh with a request from the Lord: let the people of Israel go. When Pharaoh refuses, God begins to show his power over Egypt.

The last five plagues fall upon Egypt, each more severe than the one before, until the night when Pharaoh finally lets the people of Israel go.
