Arthur was now king of England, but being king wasn't easy. Many lords who had fought for the throne didn't accept a young man as their ruler.

There were rebellions and battles. Arthur had to prove his worth not just by pulling a sword from a stone, but by fighting to protect his kingdom.

In one of these battles, something terrible happened. Arthur was fighting against a powerful rebel knight when - CRACK! - his sword broke in half!

The sword from the stone, the one that had proved he was king, was shattered!

Arthur escaped from the battle, but he was very sad. "How can I be king without a sword?" he thought.

Merlin, the wise wizard, came to speak with Arthur. "Don't be sad, my king. That sword fulfilled its purpose - it proved who you were. But now you need a truly special sword, worthy of the greatest king England will ever have."

"Where will I find such a sword?" asked Arthur.

Merlin smiled mysteriously. "Come with me. There's a magical place I want to show you."

They rode together through dense forests and deep valleys. Finally they arrived at an extraordinary place: an immense lake, as still and smooth as a giant mirror.

"This is the Enchanted Lake," said Merlin. "A place of ancient magic. Look carefully at the waters."

Arthur looked at the lake. The water was so clear and calm that it perfectly reflected the blue sky. There wasn't a wave, not a movement.

Suddenly, something incredible happened!

In the middle of the lake, an arm rose from the waters! It was a woman's arm, dressed in shining white. And in the hand of that arm... a sword!

But what a sword! It shone like the sun! Its hilt was of gold and silver, decorated with precious stones. The blade gleamed with its own light, as if it had fire inside it!

"What is that?" whispered Arthur, amazed.

"That is Excalibur," said Merlin. "The most powerful sword that ever existed. And it's being offered to you."

Only the true and just king can wield Excalibur!

Then something even more extraordinary happened. The waters of the lake parted gently, and a woman appeared, walking on the surface as if it were solid ground!

She was beautiful, dressed in a white gown that floated around her like mist. Her hair was long and dark, and her eyes shone with ancient wisdom.

"I am the Lady of the Lake," she said with a musical voice. "Guardian of this sacred place and of this magical sword."

Arthur was amazed. He had never seen anyone so beautiful or so mysterious.

"Arthur, son of Uther," continued the Lady, "you have proved yourself the true king. You have proved to have courage, humility, and a pure heart. Therefore, Excalibur is yours!"

"How can I reach it?" asked Arthur, looking at the sword in the middle of the lake.

The Lady of the Lake smiled. "Do not be afraid. The water will support you."

Arthur took a deep breath and stepped onto the water. To his surprise, it was like stepping on solid ground! He walked across the lake, step by step, until he reached where the arm held Excalibur.

With reverence, Arthur grasped the sword's hilt. The arm released it gently and disappeared into the waters.

Arthur lifted Excalibur into the air. The sword was perfectly balanced, light but strong. And when he moved it, it sang! A clear, pure sound like a bell!

The blade shone with silver light. Words in an ancient language were engraved on it.

Take me. Wield me only in the name of justice!

"This sword is more precious than you imagine," said the Lady of the Lake. "It was forged on the Sacred Isle of Avalon, with magic and metal from the stars. Excalibur will never break. Its blade cuts through any armor. Its brilliance drives away darkness."

"It's an extraordinary gift!" said Arthur. "How can I thank you?"

"Use it wisely," replied the Lady. "Use it only to protect the weak and defend what is right. Never use it to conquer or oppress. Excalibur serves only justice!"

"I promise!" said Arthur solemnly.

The Lady then gave him something more: a leather scabbard decorated with gold and magical stones.

"This scabbard is as valuable as the sword," she said. "While you wear it, you will lose no blood, no matter how grave the wound. Guard it well!"

Arthur placed Excalibur in the scabbard and fastened it to his belt. He knelt before the Lady of the Lake.

"Thank you, my lady. I will be worthy of this gift!"

The Lady of the Lake smiled. "You will build a kingdom of justice and peace, Arthur Pendragon. Excalibur will help you in that mission. But remember: the true strength of a king is not in his sword, but in his heart!"

She then walked back to the center of the lake. The waters parted gently and she disappeared, leaving only small ripples that soon calmed.

The lake returned to being smooth as a mirror, as if nothing had happened.

Arthur returned to Camelot with Excalibur at his side. News of the magical sword spread quickly.

When the rebels learned that Arthur now wielded the legendary Excalibur, many laid down their arms. "He must truly be the chosen king!" they said.

With Excalibur, Arthur won all battles against those who threatened his kingdom. But he always remembered the words of the Lady of the Lake - he used the sword only to defend, never to conquer.

Excalibur shone like a beacon of hope. Wherever Arthur went with his magical sword, he brought justice, protection, and peace.

And so, with Excalibur at his side, Arthur began to build his dream: a kingdom where noble knights defended the weak, where justice prevailed, and where all could live in peace.

The time of Camelot had begun!

Reflection

Excalibur was powerful, but the Lady of the Lake taught that true strength comes from the heart. Power without wisdom and justice is dangerous. Always use your talents and abilities for good!
