Maria Rita was a girl from Salvador, Brazil, who could not bear to see anyone suffer. She became Sister Dulce, the nun who sheltered seventy sick people in a chicken coop and came to be known as the Good Angel of Bahia.

From the old chicken coop grew a hospital that cares for thousands of people. Sister Dulce met the Pope, received awards from around the world, and stayed simple to the end. This is the story of the nun from Bahia who became Saint Dulce of the Poor.
