The night was wide and dark. Then a star lit up in the sky. Blink. It was small. It was bright. And the star went on ahead.

Far away in the East, wise men saw the star. They left their homes to look for the child born king. They came to worship him. They walked over the sand, slowly. Tap, tap. Tap, tap. And the star went on ahead.

They walked for many nights. The wind was cold. The road was long. The wise men kept looking up. And the star went on ahead.

Then the star stopped. It stopped right above the place where the child was. The wise men went in slowly. Inside was the baby Jesus, with Mary his mother.

The wise men knelt down on the floor. They worshipped the baby Jesus. They opened the treasures they had carried so far. Gold. Frankincense. Myrrh. After that they said nothing at all.

The night grew quiet again. The child slept. The star shone on. Blink. Close your eyes now too. The star will stay lit all night long. Good night, little one.
